How car transport from Delhi works
Car transport services in Delhi mostly use multi-car carriers: long trucks with two decks that take six to ten cars. Your car is driven or winched onto the carrier at a loading point close to you, secured at the wheels, and driven off at the other end. You never need to drive it across the country yourself. Bikes travel differently, as the bike transport section explains.
- 01
Quote and booking
Tell us the model, pickup and drop addresses, and your dates. You get a written quote with insurance as a separate line. - 02
Pickup and condition report
At pickup, you and our team note every scratch and dent, the odometer reading and the fuel level, with photos from all sides. Both of you sign the report. - 03
Loading on the carrier
The car is loaded on a ramp, wheels strapped or chocked, handbrake on, so it can't roll or bounce in transit. - 04
Transit with updates
You get updates while the carrier is on the road, with an expected delivery date. - 05
Delivery and inspection
At delivery, check the car against the pickup report before you sign. Note any new mark on the delivery receipt.
Car transport charges from Delhi, by city
Prices are for a hatchback or sedan, door to door, checked in October 2026. SUVs take more space on the deck and usually cost a little more. August, September and the festive season are the busiest months, and prices rise with demand.

Open carrier, enclosed carrier or train?
Most cars leaving Delhi travel on open carriers and arrive fine. An enclosed carrier is worth the extra money for a new, luxury or vintage car, or for a long trip in the monsoon. Some people look at the railways, which can work out cheaper on long routes but means taking the car to the station and collecting it yourself.
If you want an enclosed carrier, ask for it when you request the quote. Availability depends on the route.
Bike transport from Delhi
Bike transport in Delhi works differently from car transport. A motorcycle or scooter doesn't go on a car carrier. It is packed, stood upright in a closed truck and strapped down, either with your household goods or with other bikes going the same way. We collect it from your home and deliver it to your new address.
How a bike is packed for transport
- The fuel tank is run down to nearly empty and the battery is disconnected.
- Mirrors and loose accessories come off and are packed separately.
- Foam and bubble wrap go over the tank, headlamp, meters and exhaust.
- Corrugated sheet wraps the body, with stretch film over it to hold everything in place.
- In the truck the bike stands upright, front wheel chocked, strapped to the body at two or more points.

Sending the bike in the same truck as your household goods usually costs less than booking it on its own.
Truck or train for your bike?
Railway parcel offices also carry bikes, and the freight is low. A 2026 guide put a 150 kg bike from Delhi to Mumbai at about ₹871 including GST. The catch is the legwork: you take the bike to the station, get it packed, book it with your RC and ID, and collect it at the destination station with the parcel way bill. Most stations want the fuel tank completely empty.
Getting your bike ready
- Wash the bike and take photos and a short video from all sides.
- Note the odometer reading and any scratches on the pickup report.
- Remove the phone mount, GPS, saddle bags and tank bag.
- Pack the helmet and riding gear with your household goods.
- Keep copies of the RC, insurance and PUC certificate ready for the crew.
- Hand over one key and keep the spare with you.
How to get your car ready for transport
- Wash the car a day before, so every scratch shows up in the pickup photos.
- Take your own photos and a short video from all sides, with the date visible.
- Leave about a quarter tank of fuel. A full tank only adds weight.
- Remove valuables, papers, chargers and loose items from the cabin and boot.
- Take off removable accessories such as a dashcam or roof carrier.
- Check the tyres and battery, so the car can be driven on and off the carrier.
- Hand over one key and keep the spare with you.
Documents for car and bike transport, and re-registration
For the move
- Copy of the RC (registration certificate) of the car or bike.
- Copy of the valid insurance policy.
- Valid PUC certificate.
- Copy of your ID and address proof.
- If the vehicle is on a loan, keep the bank's details handy. You will need an NOC from the bank to re-register it later.
If you are staying in the new state
Under the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle registered in one state and kept in another for more than 12 months has to be re-registered in the new state. This applies to bikes as well as cars. The usual steps are an NOC from the RTO where the vehicle is registered, road tax paid in the new state, and a refund claim for the unused road tax in the old state where that state allows it.
If you move often for work, check whether you qualify for a BH (Bharat) series number. It is open to defence staff, central and state government employees, PSU staff, and employees of private companies with offices in four or more states or union territories, and it avoids re-registration on every transfer.
Transit insurance for your car or bike
Check your own motor policy first. A comprehensive (package) policy in India normally covers damage to the vehicle while it is in transit by road or rail. A third-party-only policy doesn't. The same check applies to a bike. Transit insurance arranged through the mover usually costs 1.5 to 2% of the value you declare, and is worth considering if your policy is third-party only, is close to expiry, or the vehicle is expensive. The insurance page explains what it covers and how to claim.
